At St. David's, we work to give children and youth a set of experiences, stories and tools that will serve as a foundation for the growth of their faith throughout their lives. We explore the stories of the Bible and practice what it means to follow Jesus. We believe that children also grow through learning how to pray and through making good friends.

Children's Church and Sunday School

Every Sunday during the school year, children aged preschool through 5th grade gather for age-appropriate worship, followed by Christian instruction. Our weekly small group Bible Lesson involves age-appropriate discussion, crafts, skits, games and prayer. Kids learn the same lesson that’s read and preached on in "big" church. We finish with snacks. Each year is capped with the grade-level milestone, such as the Lord's Prayer or memory verses. Children also participate in our annual Christmas Pageant Play, which lets them step right into the story of the birth of Jesus.

Vacation Bible School

During the summer, we host a one week, half-day children's program for kids age 3 to 6th grade. Kids will enjoy interactive Bible stories, hands-on crafts, high-energy music, games, making friends, snacks and more.

First Communion

5th graders participate in five classes each spring with our pastor to prepare them for receiving Holy Communion.

Youth Choir

Let by professional musician Bethany Porter, our youth choir is open to all grade school children, rehearsing every Sunday during the school year.

Middle School Confirmation

Providing healthy faith development for middle schoolers is our church’s commitment to all parents. All children entering grades 6 thru 9 are strongly encouraged to join our Wednesday night faith formation program, called Confirmation. It isn’t required that you have been a regular Sunday worshipper to start. We help kids craft an identity in Christ, and encourage and equip them to live out the call God has on their lives. Our middle school formation program involves weekly classes, following the themes of the catechism. We aim for increased biblical competence, spiritual growth, and a deeper understanding of the creeds, commandments, and Lord's Prayer. We also reflect on their experiences of growing up, and how God is already at work in their lives. Kids participate in weekend camps, dramas, day trips, service opportunities, and youth evenings.
